And the Fun Begins!
I am so excited about this new group we've started! I really plan on giving it my "all" so that we can all be happy members and have great things planned to do and great friends to talk to. The beauty about this club is that it can start out small and eventually grow into something larger yet still be just as much fun, if not more.
A few things that I plan to do with this group:
I really want it to be a no pressure gathering. Something that is constant, once a month, so that it's easy for us to plan ahead and be able to attend. But at the same time, I don't want anyone to feel like they "have" to be there or feel guilt for not attending. This group will operate via email so it wouldn't be any extra work or cost to send an email out to someone that never comes to the events. Of course at anytime you can opt to cancel your emails so that I'm not cluttering up your mailbox!
In addition to the monthly events that will be scheduled, I would also like to have planned playdates so that we can also get together with our kids. To start, this can be sporadic and there really isn't going to be any "set" days or times. Again, no pressure to come if you can't or choose not do.
I plan to stay current with blog updates so that we can stay connected. From time to time there will be updates, helpful tips, discussions, reading recommendations, etc. So make sure that you bookmark the blog so that you can check back and see what's new. Depending on how things go in the future, I would LOVE to get a message board or chat going so that it's even easier to stay connected.
I want this club to be very open. I will ALWAYS be open for suggestions, concerns, complains and will do my best to accommodate everyone so that we can all have a good time and feel like we belong. I know that it's very possible that it will be a rocky start getting everything up and going, so please be patient. With everyones help and support, this club has the potential to be something GREAT!
